Hi guys,

Sorry for not posting since my last post quite long ago, what with all the MYCTs and all that.

First off, I'd just like to remind you all, especially the sec 1s, that all of you are welcome to post here. It's not an exclusive blog like the RIRC main blog. It's a platoon blog, so all of us should be posting in it. Just write anything you like. Doesn't matter what it is. Treat it as your Facebook wall or something.

Another thing I'd like to talk about is our unit's discipline. Ok I'm not in any position to lecture anyone about this, but honestly, after seeing cadets from other units and their level of dedication and discipline, I think we really need to buck up. And not just discipline, our skills as well (i.e. FD, FA, etc). Let's just be frank here, I know some of you don't give a shit about this CCA, and you're just trying to do the bare minimum to get past your four years in it. If you're in this group, I don't give a shit about you either. But I don't think most of us are such apathetic people with no passion, just that we get lazy or sian or whatever it is. That's what I want to talk about. Because in a UG, as cliched as it sounds, we're supposed to learn teamwork and discipline - and that includes being passionate about your UG and keeping up your standards whether you are tired or whatever instead of cooking up excuses.

Honestly I don't like to write these kinds of things and I also feel quite uncomfortable acting as if I'm your senior or something, but I just want to say what I think. You can ignore it and treat it as if it didn't exist, but I really hope, whether it's from this (fail) "speech" or wherever, you will learn to be passionate and disciplined. Especially the sec 1s - you all are much better than my batch, so hopefully you'll become better than us in the future.

Inter-UG Games

You all heard about the Inter-UG Games? They are basically some games held annually between the UGs. And *puts on cliched morning assembly prize presentation voice* "I'm proud to announce that Red Cross has obtained commendable results in this competition". Not. Sadly we've been failing quite badly in this competition for the past few years. We went quite close last year, only losing the 3rd-4th place match to NPCC for soccer. But new people have come in, old people have left. I think with you all sec 1s we can suan the other UGs in soccer hopefully. Or at least get top 3.

But lol, from last year's experience, many of the UGs send in sec 3s and 4s, so hopefully they don't play too violently or bully small people :P.

Hey Epsilonians!

The Epsilon flag was painted today! It looks really great. Your fellow year 2 Yi Cheng has brought it home. Alright, looks like Epsilon is getting ready for the check-in at Camp Borealis. Remember to start packing and buying missing stuff soon.
Thank you so much to the year 1s and 2s (year sounds so formal) who came down to the S. Raja Block Foyer today to help create the flag! They are Jun Wei, Shawn, Ryan, Eric, Adam, Jeremiah, and Samuel and Yi Cheng (who went to help out during breaks in FACOM training). Let's give a online round of applause to them! *claps*
However, just addressing some issues the PMs have noticed. Yi Cheng has really been taking a lot of initiative. We wish to see the year 2s following his example the next time we meet. Be the guide to your year 1s.
For year 1s, it doesn't mean you cannot lead! But more importantly, listen to your year 2 seniors, because they possess one more year of experience in RIRC and will know better.
With the platoon spirit, no doubt we will get through camp as one united platoon! Let the flag fly high, the fire burn bright, your stomachs in and chests out, and the crown on the head of the purple mantis shine!

Great game of soccer today :P. Heard of the inter-UG games? I think we might be able to get top 3 this year for the first time. Last year we came quite close, losing to NPCC in the 3rd-4th match due to penalties only. And Epsilon is really good in soccer this year, especially with people like Shawn and Eric. Hope there's soccer during camp so we can thrash the other platoons.

P.S. Forgive the random French post earlier. Was in a crazy mood.

Platoon Flag

Hi all,

Since the least of you are free on Tuesday and Thursday, we'll have the flag-making then. Sorry, but I'm busy the whole week, except for weekends and I doubt you all would want to come back then. Please post which day you prefer. We'll just randomly decide if you all don't say anything. It will be from after school (about 2.30pm) to maybe 4pm or so? Depends on how long you all take. If you all slack around it'll obviously take longer.

So the stuff we need to get:

The flag cloth - according to the post 1m by 50cm. I think any length above 75cm is quite ok to be honest. Anyway, just ask your parents/maid/whoever it is whether you have a white, CLEAN cloth of these dimensions.
The flagpole - We need a bamboo stick about 1.25m - 1.5m. Technically we can just steal one from the 02/01 Scouts headquarters, since they have a few hundred there, but ... Anyway, similarly, ask your parents/maid if they have any shortish bamboo poles or detached dustpan sticks or something of the correct length.
Acrylic paints - most troublesome. Anyone living next door to a Popular store or something? If not I'll just buy them. Ok fine, forget it. DON'T BUY. I'll buy them myself. The costs will be split as evenly as possible. So to confirm, the colours are RED, PURPLE, GREEN and BLACK.

Anyway, welcome to Epsilon. Sorry if I still don't know most of your names since I'm busy with FACom and probably won't see you all much until camp since the sirs keep pulling us FACommers out for special training.

Hope you all are looking forward to camp (I'm not :P). Fine just joking. Anyway, it's really our chance to come back this year since last year was quite obviously Iota's year. We seem to have more people apparently? Be enthusiastic, don't learn from someone (*ahemsamuelahem*).

Might be a bit late, but please try to get fitter before camp. I know two weeks is quite a short time (fine, it isn't possible to get fit within two weeks), but this goes for the rest of the year too. You're in a UG, not some musical group or something. Notice all the push-ups and jogs? In camps they will only get worse. Not to scare you or anything.

Sorry for the long post. Anyway, anyone of you likes playing soccer? Or knows anyone in other platoons who like soccer? Just interested.

P.S. Just in case you all don't know, FACom means First Aid Competition. It's basically the most prestigious competition in Red Cross. And the finals are on the last Saturday of March (19 March). There are 3 epsilonians in it :P. You all will have to come down to support us. But anyway, support everyone, because it's a unit competition, not related to platoons at all.

Hey guys. Adding on to Vatsal, great job again. I realised there has been a lot of game recommendations. Keep up the good job and just remember, whatever you want to share, share it. Jokes, videos, songs, funny pictures, cool cheers, interesting facts, studying tips, how to tie bandages faster, anything. Just make sure it is appropriate enough ;)
Some things you guys might want to consider. How about making a platoon contact list or taking a platoon photo?
I believe Yimin was told to write a new poem for the blog to replace the one you see on the right, but all of you can contribute. I know there are aspiring writers out there amongst all of you; here is your chance to show your talent.
You guys have thought of great ideas too. Playing soccer as a platoon, gaming as a platoon, we can have lunch as a platoon. Since the EOYs are coming, why not study together as well? We might just be thinking of organizing an inter-platoon mugging competition. Haha.
Also, remember everyone has to sign up for at least one sport for the inter-unit / UG games day. Trust me, it will be quite fun.
On a more serious note, this year is coming to an end very quickly. I'm sure all of us are longing for a platoon slogan. Last year's was May the Mantis Rule. If you have an idea for this year's, post it on the tagboard so that everyone can see. Sec 2s, like we have said time and time again, treasure the time you have left with Epsilon. I'm still not seeing some of you take charge yet. Sec 1s, observe carefully how your sec 2s have been leading you all, because next year, you guys will be leading the new sec 1s, it is then when you realise you do not have any sec 2s to refer to, because then, you will be the new sec 2s. The sec 1s will be looking up to you, expecting you to lead the way.
I hope that wasn't too confusing.
Anyways, keep reminding each other to check this blog often! It's one of the best ways to connect with each other after trainings.

Good evening all,

Ryan here, for the last time of this week.

I would like to make more than an appeal, I would like to see effort, see willpower, the will to keep the spirit of this platoon flowing around us. Yes, I know it is the seventh month, we should be more careful with our words, but this is definitely not what I want to see: nothing from anyone else.

For the posts I see now on the blog, it is only my posts, one from Yi Cheng, one from Vatsal, one from Hui Jun, one from Gabriel, and one from Ryan Tia. And mind you, the names which I mentioned from Vatsal onwards only has posts from July or even earlier.

And it is not the Sec 3s fault if they did not post, they are not part of this platoon, and they are not responsible for it too. It is you all and me, all of us in B60 and 61, to keep up our very own platoon blogs.

Two days ago, Hui Jun told me not to post anymore. He told me as our new platoon mentor for now, he would like to see more than just me posting. If you don't believe what I said, ask Darryl. Not posting here only proves several things:

1. You do not know how to post, but you have not come to find me yet (on MSN).
2. You do not know about this blog, which is virtually impossible.
3. You are very, very busy but also have not told me yet.
4. You are very lazy, and so are your fingers.
5. You don't care about this at all and feel no attachment nor responsibility towards this platoon.

If you are one of those who belong to number 5, I would like to make it clear right here, right now. We who care do not need you here. If you think Epsilon is all about sitting down for one hour from 3:30 to 4:30pm on normal RIRC trainings, then you should deeply reflect. Of course, if you really fit the description, then I can infer that you don't even think you should reflect, as you can't be bothered at all.

This is why even people like Gabriel get turned off. It's the very sheer feeling of oblivion fro everyone that turns off one's enthusiasm. Letting others affect you may not be a good thing, and this does apply to Gabriel as well. Cheer up, Gabriel. I would like to see that constant smile on your face again, your very talk of "etiquette".

This is what a batch, a platoon, a unit, friends are for. I can justify this with Hadi-sir's post on the RIRC blog itself.

Take tomorrow, and think about what I said. To some, it may be:

1. Utter bullshit.
2. Complete sense and I should follow.
3. I still don't care.
4. I don't know.

I would just like to commend and thank each and everyone of you all for helping in this blog recently, and it is not because it is the best and most politically correct answer. Everyone has a part to play in what I term as the most successful revolution in Epsilon's blog.

So, keep it up and I bet Epsilon can see better days. This is definitely not the worst period in Epsilon history, and this is not the Golden Age either. Strive for a better tomorrow!

Hi everyone,

This is Ryan for the third time consecutive since the awesome big comeback of Epsilon.

I daresay, we are the most active platoon now, ahead in CIP, and I just checked the other two platoons' blogs. Iota is dead. OFFICIALLY.

Omega is receiving posts everyday, which is good. They are even sharing vids and the like, so if you really do not know what to post, go to Omega's blog and see what you can follow. The format I mean, not the CONTENT.

But they roughly have the same situation as us, people posting, but only the few usual people often. And mostly it's just random stuff. We can always talk about training.

I'm really impressed to see Yi Cheng's post. At least, he is mostly honest about the things that go on in training. I'm so glad that I'm talking about it now.

This is not directed to just Yi Cheng, but to everyone in Epsilon. Do try to understand that it is not because the Sec 3s or 4s do not want to give you guys PT, but there are stuff that they want to teach you guys, and they are trying not to interfere with your exams.

Look, here's the thing. Last year, even with spammed trainings, our Sec 2s, this year's Sec 3s, still had to hold inter-platoon trainings to ensure we knew certain stuff. And yes, I agree that this year has been even more busy than last year, it is one of my busiest years, even if i subtract the competitions.

And there's still the CCA stand-down. It takes away half of all trainings available. If you take the remainder and subtract the holidays (those that occur during school term), you are left with very little trainings.

Just a fun fact Sec 1s, Batch 60 only had our FD & Evac Accreds at the end of the year, in November. This shows how late we were. We even needed a crash course. It is not the seniors' fault, it is more of our responsibility, because some people tend to not attend trainings to sometimes. So yes, Yi Cheng, I hope I have not destroyed your hopes, maybe when you plan for the unit one day, you may be able to fit everything in. Good luck, Batch of 2013.

And also, I would like to appeal to you guys to pick up as many skills as possible, as this is because next year, for Sec 1s, you guys have to join at least a competition, and there is no ArtsFest. It may be a problem, but we hope it all works out, as all the competitions cannot have everybody going for it. ArtsFest is the only competition which we can literally spam participants. So do attend Hadi-sir's dance trainings as well.

And lastly, try not to complain so much as well. Not that it is not allowed, but do understand, behind the Sec 3s there are Sec 4s, and behind the Sec 3s and 4s there are VIs, and behind everyone, there are teachers and HQ. Which probably explains all the restrictions. You all will understand in time to come.

This being said, I think I have finally unloaded everything, do look forward to the platoon CIPs and also the combined unit activity. I bet Sec 1s, you guys will ENJOY it, if only I knew what was the unit we are interacting with...

This is Ryan, again.

Today I have changed the MixPod, if you do not like it, do email or tell me via MSN. I would like to hear your comments. But anyway, the songs in there are still quite nice, so I hope you appreciate it. I'm not a music person, much less an IT guy.

Anyway, I'm here today for another reason, and that is to introduce you guys to FACOM, especially the Sec 1s.

FACOM, or First Aid COMpetition for short, is held usually every August/September. However, due to the shifting and alteration of HQ events, the time for FACOM and FDCOM (FootDrill COMpetition) has been swapped, so we will have less time to train for the next FACOM after this one.

This competition is only for Sec 2s - 4s, and it does not just require good first aid skills, but also evacuation and OA skills. Joining this competition can be a very good learning experience to start from for those who are not interested in footdrill and the like, but it does require a high level of commitment to attendance of the trainings and to ensure your proficiency in first aid.

Joining this competition can also help boost your confidence, as you assume responsibilities to reassure and deal with casualties in a scenario, just like the real-life thing itself, without the injuries only. However, the only difference from the real thing and the training is that we will be interacting with other casualties we never seen before, but don't dream about getting a female casualty. It's virtually impossible.

So hone your skills and join this competition! I believe everyone got their CCA verification documents as well, please BRING THEM FOR TOMORROW'S TRAINING. I believe everybody would want to get higher CCA points, so yes, strive hard and we will get what we want to achieve.

Lastly, I would like to remind you all that you must WEAR THE UNIT T-SHIRT ON MONDAYS. Failure to comply may result in punishment, not decided by me.

Henceforth, enjoy your long break when it comes, guys! And don't forget to come down this Saturday if possible~

Yes, yes I know some of you just aren't that fit or that enthusiastic about sports, but I mean, how hard can it be to just exercise more and put in more effort in PT? They help with Evac, they help with camp points (6Pak for example), and other things too. I always get damn pissed off when people say Red Cross is a slack CCA and such, especially when I know all off us are partly responsible for this stereotype.

FYI: I never train in a gym or any such bullshit. All I do is swim, run, play soccer like mad and walk to and fro school every day. It's seriously not THAT hard. And it's not like you have to become an athlete or anything with no fat at all - I still eat the super-fatty chicken cutlet from the noodle stall at least thrice per week.

And on a side note: HAVE MORE RECREATION SESSIONS (small print: i.e. soccer)!!! PT doesn't really do much since you can't really force those who are unfit to do even half-proper push-ups, can you?

And totally random thought: Push-ups are weird...or are chin-ups weird? I find chin-ups relatively easy (can do like 6 proper ones) but I can only do less than 20 proper push-ups. Maybe it's because I'm lightweight for my height but don't really have THAT much arm muscle...or maybe all my muscles are white muscles that can only provide strength for a short period of time.

And crunches on the hard concrete of the Raja block is really torturous...for me anyway. I can easily do 2-3x of that on a soft surface, but I don't know why it's so hard to do it on the hard concrete.

I'm listening to Vatsal here, posting about today's training. And I only have one word to describe it: TIRING.

I'm not someone with very good stamina, and holding in push-up position is definitely not my forte. I really wish that my fitness improves by the end of this year and next year as well, or else I'm gonna fail my NAPFA in Sec 4...

Anyway, here are some great ideas you can post about yourself.
I understand that we have been as a platoon for at least half a year already (or close to), and we may know each other quite well. But certain secrets run deep... maybe it is time to show your talent, maybe it is kinda like a time for you to flaunt it, but just THIS ONCE.

Re-introduce yourself, and your good points. PLEASE DO NOT INSULT YOURSELF OR OTHERS, EVEN IF YOU THINK IT IS HARMLESS. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ALL ARE. This is a platoon blog, not a flaming blog.

Lastly, I wish all a great time this year, before Sec 1s you all take over as leaders of the platoon, and serve the cause even better than us Batch 60!

Hmm... was reading your posts... quite insightful...
However, I feel that you guys just keep posting about the revival of the blog, and use that post as an excuse to prove its revival. This shouldn't be the way.

Someone could have posted the script for PN... or posted your feelings for a particular training when you feel like it. That is true revival.

Anyway, the word 'revival' is starting to seem weird to me, so let's move on. I see only Jia Ming, Yi Cheng, Ryan Tia, Gabriel and Ryan Lim posting. Where are the rest of you? Oh ya and if you haven't passed evac accreds, get your platoonmates to help you, or you can contact me to clear any doubts you have. I suggest having a slogan (other than boomz lol) for epsilon. You could type it at the end of each post. Cool.

Vote for your favourite slogan in the Cbox (serious ones). Btw, last year, it was "May the Mantis Rule." Cool. Again.

Before this blog remains dead any longer, how about you guys renovate it?
I've been seeing the plain blog template for almost a year, the platoon pet is still there (in case you haven't noticed) and even the Ghost Trappers photo of the week is becoming the photo of the semester.
And also add a list of the members of Epsilon (which I noticed the other two platoons have).
Anyway, we have great motivational posts from Ryan Tia and Yi Cheng after the 6Pak camp! Great job!
I know it's after the June holidays and you guys haven't been keeping in touch as often as trainings would make you, but trust me the platoon points system is kicking into action soon and the IPCs will come.
Enjoy your time in this platoon, especially the sec 2s, because when you leave, that's when you feel you could have done more for Epsilon.
Keep in touch by posting on this blog (revive it), chatting on MSN and even just saying hi when you see each other during school hours.
And also finally, make a little effort to revise your footdrill, evacuation, first aid, outdoor activities, etc. because it does help. And also, maybe the "Raffles!" at the end of bersurai can be louder.

We survived this. :)

We had fun (okay, not so much, but still), we bonded as a platoon, we stuck together.
We screwed the shit out of Omega, we narrowly lost to Iota.

They have the Mao Mao. Problem is, we are the Number 1 contenders for the Mao Mao.
So.

All I want to say is that:

Jia Ming and Gabriel have done a bang-up job in leading us.
Ryan Lim was great in trying to keep our morale high and encouraging us to stick together.
Last but definitely not least: The Sec 1s.
You guys totally rock. I bet that you guys could beat the crap out of the Sec 1s in both Iota AND Omega at the same time hands down.

So keep it up, Guys. :D

6Pak Camp

Hi guys,

First off, let's congratulate ourselves on our performance for the June camp! 2nd place is an improvement from March camp and previous IPCs/trainings and stuff. Hope they'll double/triple the 582 points we got so we'll beat Omega.

I feel we've done really well. We won the first and last activities, and got 2nd for everything else, which is good considering Iota's overall better fitness (especially since we owned them in floorball and the Heartlands race which was quite physically demanding too).

Personally, I found the camp quite fun on a whole. Of course, there were unhappy times, but there were lots of joking, singing (sick songs Hadi-sir taught us :P) and fun (like Activity 7, the impromptu skit I think (though I was not there)).

I hope we'll all improve further in leadership, platoon spirit, etc as the year goes on. And of course, go do some physical training, especially those who know they inadvertently slow the platoon down sometimes.

P.S. Of course I don't need to do PT :P (28 points gold for NAPFA FTW!) Ok, fine I'll stop suanning you all.

Bonjour Epsilon,

A gloomy day hangs ahead of us yonder.

We should ready ourselves for what we are about to be put through.

Epsilon shall bond together like never before, only this time in tiers of batches 60 & 61.

We shall begin with this blog. This blog does not deserve to die.

Let me begin with a little history of this blog, and Epsilon since 2009.

Ages ago, in the year of 2009, when Batch 61 was still mugging crazily for their PSLE, the glorious batch of Batch 59 took the lead of Epsilon. There were many difficulties to weather, but the Epsilonians of Batch 59 stood out and allowed most of the rain to pour on them instead of the then seedlings, me and my batch, Batch 60. We were definitely not ready to face whatever lies ahead in our future as a platoon, we were too unstable. Physically disadvantaged compared to Batch 59 and other platoons, camps have been one of our common weaknesses ever since 2009, but we have bucked up ever since and stood stronger, but still having to unfortunately maintain certain conflicts which could, be at the dear expense of our platoon, not points, but bonds. Not achievements, but spirit.

The great Sec 2s then set up this blog, an empty shell. However, it very soon filled. The Sec 2s were gifted in many aspects, covering up for a lot of our mistakes. They should not have done that, but it was all in the name of Epsilon, and all for the mantis. This blog, once very much full of vigour, were full of posts, regardless of whether we felt inferior, whether we felt weaker, we always tried our very best to cheer our comrades on, or at least, feel partially enthusiastic. But to be honest, if one was what we now described as being partially enthusiastic, there was already very little contribution from him to the platoon. It implied from him as everything else took precedence over the platoon matters. True, some issues require more attention compared to the platoon stuff.

The Sec 4s and Sec 3s of 2009, Batch 57 & 58 respectively, did an excellent job taking charge during times and helped in putting us the mantis to the test, without much consequences. Little did we know that we do have/has black sheep, people who do not really care about the platoon and would rather care about themselves. But we must all learn one thing sooner or later. To succeed as an INDIVIDUAL, one starts working with a GROUP. That is something that is very true to me.

This does not just apply to our platoon, but for anyone else reading this, do ponder over it. Mull over it for a moment about what I said, and what you have been doing. Even if you are in Iota or Omega, these are the exact lessons to be learned too. When we integrate into the society, we also see such examples pop up in our faces, and we ought to have some experience in solving these problems we face as a platoon, much more let alone a whole office of at least 15 white-collar colleagues.

We don' always have a choice, welcome every single chance with open hands. Remember, learn. Time is a coin that you can spend only once. May the Mantis Rule.

This is addressed to everyone, so listen up.

March camp is coming, so I will be posting the Red Cross Song and Red Cross Pledge for everyone to learn, because Sara requires the platoons to know the AON (Nov Camp) Cheer, and the other two. The first platoon, and the most accurate one, which approaches Sara during March Camp before dinner on 15 March, will gain the most platoon points. I am just trying to encourage platoon spirit, so do not think it is about beating the other two platoons, but rather think of it as if it is the biggest challenge for Epsilon up till now with Batch 61.

On top of that, I will be inviting Batch 61 to post on this blog. So Sec 1s, do post as soon as you get permission to, because we really want to hear what you think. Don't be afraid to be candid, but we do not appreciate swear words. Short form would do for us, if you would prefer. Please also reply to my email the moment you get the invitation and accept it. And one more thing, I shall send and email regarding the RC Song & Pledge, along with a guide on how to label your stuff.

And lastly, do remember to cheer on Epsilon and display platoon spirit. The Sec 4s would love to see that the most. Do enjoy your weekend break, and prepare for camp.

Revival - Continued

Hey all,

We should listen to the senior.

The world is actually not a screwed up place originally. It is because of people disrupting the harmony of the world. So we should all try to make the world a better place.

Try living with other people's problems, regardless of whether it is affecting you or not. I'm not trying to apply the Golden Rule here or something, but we ought to really look at ourselves first and not judge others before reflecting on yourself. We, as a platoon, an individual, should not put down others, like there isn't a conspiracy in Gabriel. He is just great. Try to live life with life, not live life taking life out of others. I have told Gabriel to change as much as he can to suit the platoon, and I believe he is trying very hard to do so. Maybe we should compromise and give in to him halfway as well.

We can also try considering shaping the Sec 1s to learn from our behaviour, so long as it does not corrupt them in anyway possible. Talking about anything under the sun is okay, but not cursing others as bootlickers. So please, refrain from doing all this. we all have shortcomings, don't we? So just compromise a little and we can have a better place. The Sec 1s are new, just like how we were 1 year ago, hence we ought to teach them to have a certain standard of discipline. I think we will get more chances to do such interactive stuff, so make the best use of it, okay?

Well, that's all. Do think about this post before one dismisses it as propaganda.

The secondary 1s are now in the unit, and I've noticed since last year that there has been a problem within the platoon. If you guys do not solve this, what will the sec 1s think of the whole unit? There are already conflicts within small platoons. The reason why I am posting is that I feel the severity of this problem.
This is concerning Jia Ming, so before you dismiss this post as propaganda, please read it. Guys, I'm talking about basic respect here. Respect for each other. Jia Ming, please respect others by contributing constructively. Don't say things like "I don't care". You might as well make the most out of your time here. Be more confident. Even if life sucks, never give up. Gabriel is trying to do his best for the platoon and he's not part of any conspiracy, so please don't put him down. Learn to work with him. Try something different during the next training (having a different attitude towards things). Even if it fails, it was worth the try; there was nothing lost from it. Even if you don't change now, you'll still have to change later, through learning it the hard way. So why not change now?
The rest of Epsilon, let Jia Ming have a chance to speak. I don't know the current actual situation now, but let him have a say at things. Show him respect. If you guys have been doing so, then continue doing it. I know it's very hard to get him to not make cynical remarks, so this will require the cooperation of both parties.
There will be many other activities that will involve teamwork in platoons next time, so whether you want this problem to stay with the platoon for the rest of the year is your choice.

Hi guys,

First things first, a formal farewell to the Sec 3s this year as they leave Epsilon, don't fail us (lol) and we won't fail you guys as well in everyone's upcoming challenges. Up till now probably Gabriel, Darryl, most of the Sec 3s, maybe Kishore will be following my post. But I will still continue.

I bet most of you have heard of the post on the RIRC blog on what we can possibly do about the CIP to help with the proceeds to the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Now even for Jia Ming, please stop and spare a thought for this post. It is not to help us, no thank you, it is not about platoon spirit, although I know it is important, but purely to help the poor people of Haiti, as a member of the Red Cross, whether it is the Red Cross Youth or not, we still have the right and social responsibility to do a part for those who have been involved and affected in the recent disaster. So I appeal to everyone to make some time where we can actually think about anything for the platoon CIP, or use this tagboard or something, although I know we have to at least come up with something tomorrow. So buck up, everyone.

Secondly, about the platoon flag. Gabriel is in current possession of the first one, but we still have to make a new to display platoon unity, without using last year's flag. So again, we will find some time where we can come together and make the flag, without the Sec 3s or Sec 1s, who obviously have not come in yet. This matter will be discussed further.

Lastly, this is a little minor. Maybe we can think of some mini-orientation platoon programme for the Sec 1s. I know this is in the future, but we might as well plan for it now. We can begin by introducing us to them as a batch or something and although I know that the Sec 4s are taking care of this point, we have to lend a helping hand too.

So everyone, together we can do a lot, not just one. We should not have grudges, abrasions and the like. So refrain from doing such stuff and suspecting others of being bootlickers or suckups. I had such a case in my class and it was not very pleasant, you can ask Darryl. I urge everyone to put in some effort to make this platoon a better platoon.

Okay the thing is that we're now Secondary Two students. We're now the seniors of the junior level. That means that we have to take the stand of our platoon (plus design the platoon flag for March camp) and show the Secondary Ones what is the true meaning of being in Red Cross, or rather, an Epsilonian. The fate of what's going to be Epsilon in 2010 is lying in our hands right now. That's important.

Not only do we have to be proficient in Red Cross subjects, but we have to be leaders. Leaders that will once again make Epsilon rise above. Leaders that will show the path not tken. Leaders that will raise the bar of Red Cross Youth higher than every before.

This is our stand.
Take it, or leave it.

Celebrated New Year in aeroplane, was a different experience. Celebrated by watching 3 movies in 5 hours. Back from India just a few hours ago. Had the best holiday of my life. Visited 13 cities within India in less than a month. Was like Rush Hour 4 haha.

Hmmm... my expectations for Epsilon 2010... cliche...
What can I expect from batch 60? A lot. The batch is experienced, considering they have only gone through 1 year. The batch is big. The batch is diverse.

So if they can put in some element of sacrifice, passion and hard work, they can acheive a lot. So I expect them to work hard and do their best. Winning isn't everything, but sometimes, its good if you win one way or another. If you try your best, you have already won. Against whatever that has distracted you or stopped you from moving forward at all. So don't always think that winning means winning against other platoons.

I expect Epsilon to do their best as one. Hopefully Epsilon will be bonded by unforgettable experiences. So brace yourself for a challenging 2010!

Yes. Like Ryan said, I couldn't help agreeing with Vatsal. Okay, now I'm agreeing with Ryan.
Perhaps what I want the most from this platoon next year is more people posting on this blog.
Especially sec 3s. Please, like Vatsal, state your expectations for the platoon for 2010.
When there are people posting, it shows that the whole platoon is up-to-date with whatever is happening and the process of platoon bonding is taking place.
Ultimately it leads to a united platoon, ready to take on any obstacles it faces. A single entity. A group of people who knows each other best. Lifelong friends who never put/let each other down.
How to achieve this? You have to get your platoonmates to post more on this blog. If trainings are what unites all Epsilonians in school, then this blog is what unites all Epsilonians when they are at home.
It's okay if Epsilon loses. But it's not okay if you guys start blaming each other for the loss. I don't wish to see any of that anymore.
Now that Gabriel has the current flag, and that sec 2s will probably have to make a new flag next year, perhaps you guys can use it for inspiration? I'm not sure if you all want to reuse the pole like Omega did, but it sure does look a bit out of condition after enduring so many camps (and so many days at my house).
And then there's Vatsalmort and Friends. Maybe you guys would like to continue filming videos (and possibly earning points for the platoon).
Finally, take note that a new batch of sec 1s will be joining us next year, and that it's time for the sec 2s to start leading already! Make their Red Cross story memorable. Motivate them when times are tough. Mind your own behaviour, for you will be setting an example to them. And the sec 3s will be learning how to take over the unit.
Time passes really quickly. Especially when H1N1 is involved.

Hi all, sorry. I just woke up from hibernation. Hmm, I saw the multiple Vatsal posts on us Sec 2s doing something for the platoon, and even though he warned us against agreeing with him, there is nothing I can do but agree with him, because he took the words out of me and added a lot more to his posts, and I mean a lot more, which I have never thought about.

Now I don't care about the other platoons' blogs, as I never liked talking about stuff like Final Fantasy on platoon blogs. But we should use it to discuss our plans for the platoon and platoon, batch or unit activity. So I'm here to actually introduce an event too.

Ching Wai told me he wants to organise an outing for Batch 60 to watch a movie, according to him preferably New Moon, and he asked me to ask the Sec 2s in the platoon as to who is interested. I'm not sure whether Sec 3s are welcome, although I'm all right, please seek Ching Wai first if any of you Sec 3s are interested as well. Now that's all from me. I don't talk very well on blogs, haha.

Vatsal is absolutely correct.
We believe you guys can lead Epsilon to more victories (like the memorable one in term 3).
Just like how you guys stuck together without us sec 3s in the Captain's Ball match.
And getting second place in AON is an achievement in itself.
There's a (somewhat impromptu) reason why Gabriel brought home the flag after camp.
Maybe you guys will realise the potential in your fellow platoonmates as time passes.
And if not, I guess post-camp Epsilon exists as ONE platoon, united.
Everyone should have a chance to lead Epsilon, not just Ryan or Gabriel.
And more importantly, LISTEN to the leader.

On the other hand, accept my promise that for as long as we are organizing trainings, something like this will never happen again.
Anyways, CPR, radio communications and ankle bandage will be clarified before camp.
Make sure you guys revise your hand seats. You might think that you know how to execute a particular method, but you might be committing the same mistake over and over again. So please clarify if you have any doubts. It's for your own good. You want to have a happy camp.
I know you were released 46 minutes late today, but it was not spent in vain.

I just watched the movie with Zawad, and here are a few things I picked up from the movie. These are just some possibilities I came up with, they are not meant to insult/harm any party.

1. Everyone should go camping- it would eventually save their lives.
2. Ships built in China are reliable.

This training is to cover everything that haven't been covered last training, and completely prepare everyone for AON. And whatever else related to FA/Evac that the sec 2s decide to do.

Platoon Flag

Where is our platoon flag? If I am not wrong, it should be with Hui Jun. Do not forget to bring it for camp, or good luck to us.

Besides, it is one of the very few things that reminds Epsilon of our late member, Zhi Jie. He put in so much effort to put the masterpiece together. I remember, that day, it was raining... we bought the paint from popular and Zhi Jie was planning to run away... good times, good times.

Ok, back to my point. Remember to bring the flag for camp. Check your email. I should have sent you a more detailed word document for the upcoming camp. Oh ya and I forgot to include 1 poncho into the packlist, so do the necessary changes. And the batteries are not to be labeled.

This coming Sunday (8th November 2009), there will be an informal Epsilon training. This is for the upcoming accreds and camp, to prepare you guys for it. Although it is informal, Sec 2s will expect the same amount of discepline. We are very serious about this and if we are not able to make full use of the four hours, you will have to sacrifice lunchtime and stay back until the Sec 2s are satisfied with your standard.

Trainings are back again! lol ok last week of school already must go for training hor if not the ranks are taken away. For Monday, training still starts at 3.30 report at Rajaratnam Block Foyer in PE attire as usual.

Yeah and don't forget about the home visit to Pertapis Children's Home on 5th November. Meet at the atrium at 2.45pm in PE attire. There will be a bus there, so don't be late! It will be over by 5pm, but there is no transport back and the nearest mrt is Kovan mrt station.

Bleh been busy with FACOM trainings while you guys are busy with having fun (at least some of your are) ._.
Yea good luck to any results that you didn't get back yet I'm doing quite bad myself bleh. If you get good results then have fun but if you get bad results just work hard again next year good things always happen =)
For Sec 2s this year next year Sec 3 liao must choose subject combi carefully hor later choose wrong then regret = dai
Now that holidays are coming remember to have fun but also come for trainings lol.
And remember to support your unitmates for FACOM this year we are going to win woohoo!

Sorry for the absence.

November camp is nearing. I forgot its name. Oops.
EOYs are screwed up.
Many people lost their 4.0s, and I think I can't even get 3.2 for overall.
I hope I do.
I need to take 9 subjects.
This can't happen to me.
Sec 1s, make sure you work hard next year.
But don't work hard until you neglect Red Cross.
It's still important.
Maybe we'll be continuing with Vatsalmort and Friends.

The math paper was not hard... but it was not easy either, especially the irritating last question.
Tomorrow is the science paper... chem, bio, general sci and physics all at once! Scary...
One of my teachers said that this year's paper is tough, so good luck to us.
As usual, my history was ok, my english went well and I guessed my Geog answers. But my maths, haiz... no comments...
I have to study for one extra weekend while your exams end tomorrow! Unlucky me...

EOYs just spoil your day...

Hey all,

How's today's EOY? Bet you will say something like "I failed".

Well in this case, Jia Ming will say "My mum", "failure in my life", or something. Sorry Jia ming, for using you again.

English has never been my forte. I don't really like writing essays. But English essays are definitely better the MT essays! Like, who wants to spend all day learning how to spam cheng yu into one's essay. For those that are not in CSP and do not know what I'm talking about, cheng yu means idioms and proverbs. And this English EOY does not seem very nice to me. The comprehension is so "deep", or "cheem", as some say. And the Animal Farm essay writing (I chose to write an essay rather than a letter because there was more content to write about and I hate letters more than I hate essays nowadays.) was seriously just so complicated. I think I shall lose marks in structure.

Hi all,

Ryan here. Can tell this blog will fade off soon if no one else posts. We have always been appealing to others to post as much as possible, but we seem to get negative responses everytime. Is it because you guys are not enthusiastic about your core CCA? Come on. A core CCA. Not something you can always fool around in.

Up till now, I have noticed people who have not posted ever since August:
1. Kishore (In fact have you ever posted?)
2. Chong Ching
3. Shen Chen
4. Zhi Jie (Okay it is time for you to get back on track! Ponning CCA will get you nowhere!)
5. Qi Wei (Quite hopeless so I'm not really expecting something...)

If you guys do not like Red Cross at all, I think you guys might as well appeal to join another CCA. Like seriously, we don't really need you here, if that is how you guys want to be. If you guys would like to be like Jia Ming, then you guys may have to change a little of your attitude.

You know, I have always seen people look down on Red Cross because of the peroformance we always display to them, but imagine if almost every event where they have to send some of the best people for duties (First Aid Duty), then they will realise the pain for not being able to send the best or upper sec people into great events like the recently concluded Inter-UG Basketball.
And I scolded my classmates from my class in 2008 for laughing at those people from Red Cross, then I told them I was from Red Cross, I was seriously angry. Like who will want such people to look down on your CCA? The Red Cross badge actually allows you not to get hit in wars, if you are a certified first-aider. It is like the so-called "Immunity" sign, where it is 99.9% impossible for people to strike you on purpose. Of course, nowadays bombs don't have eyes.

Today I saw how proudly our dear ex-chairman John hand over that cap (I don't know its name, sorry) over to Jeremy, and I guess everyone feels equally proud of their CCA too. However, I overheard some NCC guy from 1C talk to our dear own Russell about Red Cross, and I was like thinking, who the heck does Russell think he is, badmouthing us after he has switched to Boys' Brigade? Well, that is human nature, considering that he does not really like Red Cross that we can tell...

So, guys I urge you all, to take at least a minute or so, pondering over this matter after you have read this post. Does results always matter?

This happens to be my first time posting even though I have been your PM for more than 3 weeks already. Been busy with stuff sry ><

Anyway, hope you guys have fun mugging/playing or wdv since there's no training =D. But yeah no matter what you do dun forget to mug for EOYs then squish Jem in his GPA then run away with lots of platoon points hurhur.

Dun worry I have been reading the blog all the time just that I didn't post and erm I saw many interesting posts. For those posting keep up the good work! For those who haven't been posting at all maybe its time you start posting. Whatever Hui Jun said in his earlier post is actually the truth, even if you don't realise it now, you will realise it sooner or later, especially when you take over the unit.

I'm quite sure Epsilon doesn't just consist of a few people. Epsilon has been, is, and will be the strongest platoon. I believe in that. But looking at things now, it doesn't seem that way. Its time to wake up from that dream of yours if you just want to ignore everything and even decide to pon training/cip. To tell the truth, we needed a high attendance for that CIP badly.

The Sec 1s had quite a high attendance, but thats only one part of it. One thing i don't see from you guys is the batch unity. Yes, I have to admit, that when I was Sec 1/2 our batch was not united. But everything changed this year. The blog name is Evolution Epsilon. Our batch only 'evolved' in Sec 3. We never managed to get together in Sec 1 or 2, except for a cluster. Maybe before you start on batch unity, you should evolve with Epsilon first. First platoon level, then batch level, then unit level.

For Sec 2s, next year is your year where you guys get ready to take over. Some of your played your part and led the platoon well (we can see that from Term 3). The platoon level is a chance for you guys to actually lead a smaller group before you actually face the whole unit with only your batch with you. That is where batch unity comes in again. This is the final stretch of the year. Leave a legacy behind for Epsilon. I believe you can do it.

Epsilon, its time to have the fire in you and challenge for greater things. It's time to BRING IT ON!

Attendance Problems

Today's newspaper collection attendance was horrifying.
Those Epsilonians who came:

Where were all the sec 2s? Sec 1s, the attendance isn't very satisfying either. I'm not directing all these at those who had Mother Tongue or other important personal matters. But for those who were studying for their EOYs at home, that's really disappointing.
We know you have EOYs and CCTs, but the thing is, everyone has EOYs and CCTs to take. No one is spared of this. Therefore, it is very unforgivable of you all to spare yourselves from this CiP while the rest of us were carrying newspapers.
First of all, you all deprived yourselves of CiP hours. Secondly, you all deprived yourselves of the wonderful PT we had. Thirdly, everyone's impression of those who didn't go yet had no reason to not go has suffered greatly.
We could have collected more newspapers and old clothes and collected more money for the needy children. We could have finished all the blocks. More people means more newspapers collected. This brings us to the number four: you have proven yourselves to be such heartless people that even your studies are more important than relieving people of their suffering.
Seriously, the point of studying is for you all to earn more money in the future. For you to serve the society. Don't study anymore if you don't even have the heart to serve the society now. It's freaking pointless.
And for the information of those who didn't come because it was a waste of your time, nobody who came commented that it was a waste of their time at the end. Don't you get it? Helping people in need really makes you a happier person. It relinquishes all stress caused by low GPAs and failed tests and the pressure to do well in the academics. It makes you see the better side of the world and the better side of yourself.
I didn't complain of the time I spent typing this, knowing that most people won't read it, did I?
Those people who have this directed at you, reflect upon yourselves and the terrible decision you have made. You have missed out on a lot.

For Eternity

No post from me in a long time already.
All I want to say now is that, all of you know that november camp AON is coming. The year is ending. Sec 2s will soon be leaving the platoon. Sec 1s, you have to get more active. Stop quarelling with each other over matters regarding who makes more sense. Stop talking so loudly during trainings. Stop talking so much during trainings as well. Batch 60 is soon becoming a sec 2 batch. You all are mature people already. Do you want your juniors coming in next year to witness you saying immature stuff?
Even if your platoonmate seems to speak no sense, have an open mind. Who will know if he really means something important if you people do not take some time to reflect on what he had said? As far as I can see here, words by your fellow batchmates are dismissed without even being thoroughly reviewed. Let everyone speak their mind and you will have your own chance.
As I mentioned, sec 1s, you really got to act like mature gentlemen. How imba the platoon will be next year will mostly depend on you. If you still continue to be passive, how will your sec 1s know what to do? Or even worse, they might just do everything for the platoon because the sec 2s are not doing their job. I don't want to see that happen next year, understood? Lead the platoon with passion and the spirit of the Mantis next year because you have the right to. Let Epsilon regain its former glory.
I know that many people do not even visit this blog. Let's try to bring them back, shall we? I know that the EOYs are near, but every break you take from studying, might as well spend it on a new meaningful post on this blog. Perhaps we can all spam emails reminding each other to check the blog every now and then. Bookmark the platoon blog URL. Show the other platoons what this platoon can achieve.

A piece of important information

I know I have said this again (and people think it is rubbish) but I feel the need to do so:

On behalf of all the Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 Epsilon platoon members, I wish the Sec. 4s good luck in their future endeavours, and also congratulate the Sec. 3 cadets in taking over their new positions.

It is always important to note that Red Cross Youth, as a core UG CCA, never can be complete with all its cadets being "Sirs". Never think that Epsilon will survive with just Yan Tyng Sir and Deepanraj Sir. It needs its members, its blood that encompasses the spirit of sportmanship and teamwork unique to Epsilon (suddenly I realise that I have said this once). It needs collaboration, cooperation, and hard work, something that we can easily acheive.

Yet in the same way Epsilon can't survive with no Sirs. They form the basic skeleton in which blood can flow; they form the links between each and every Red Cross member, they create discipline, somewhat if you can consider like a greenhouse, encouraging the growth of plants in it. This is what makes Epsilon unique.

We need them. They need us as well.

Then we come back to the topic of evolution. I bet not only Jee Kinn has noticed Epsilon degrading. Thats why we need a revolution. We have to make Epsilon come back to life. How? It's all explained in common sense. We don't care if you are intelligent. We don't care whether you have a 4.5 GPA score. We never did. But we care about collaboration, sportsmanship and hard work. We never wanted for RC to be labelled as "slack" as in teenage "terms". Do we?

Think about it.

Okay, don't need to "think about it" but just keep that in mind. Good luck for your upcoming EOYs!

Important Matters... and our pride!

Hi all,

Has been some time since I last posted. I must say, Jia Ming, you are really spamming!!! Lol. But I am mainly posting today to update you guys about the Inter-UG Half-Marathon as well as the Inter-UG Basketball Competition.

Basically, the half-marathon I'm not very sure, but we got last. I was playing in the basketball competition, so I'm more sure of that part. We also got last, a little surprisingly, and we lost all our matches!!!

Special people who did extremely well during the basketball competition: Kai Yen, Ching Wai, Clive, KYX, Wei Yang, Li Hong and Hui Jun.

Kai Yen was playing in the last match of the day, we VS the 01 Scouts. There was this spiky-haired Sec 4, some weird hairstyle guy, who was so tall and fast, that he got past us quite quickly. But when Kai Yen tried to score a far two-pointer, the guy went to block him. Of course he blocked it!!! But when they jumped, the guy came down and held his leg, asking for a substitute, and said he sprained his ankle or something. It was like a miracle! Kai Yen got off without a scratch or something!

Ching Wai was a great scorer, bringing in the only two goals when we fought against I think is 02 Scouts (Please correct me). He went for the attack usually, and was a great addition to the team.

Right now I would like everyone to note that it is a 5-a-side game, and there were unlimited substitutions.

Clive is a hero (no Mousehunt jokes here...)! He took part in almost all matches (or was it all?)! He was like, the tallest in our team and the one getting the ball towards the net everytime, but not always scoring. He gets the rebounds and stuff, so he is actually the only Sec 4 in the matches, other than the first one, when there was Joel.

KYX ran the marathon and played basketball. He was someone full of energy lol. With him around, the opponent did not intercept the ball as many times.

Wei Yang also ran in the marathon and played basketball! But his intercepting skills were like awesome! He made great passes and interceptions, bringing the ball to our grasp more often than not!

Then there is Li Hong, who had a couple of hiccups during the matches. I think he played all, but sometimes substituting. According to him, the 01 Scouts were a troublesome bunch. The Sec 4 from Kai Yen's case (remember him?) bit his hand when they were vying for the ball. The second 01 Scout which troubled him was some guy who, when they were fighting for the ball again, licked his palm. Lol!!!

Finally, Hui Jun. He did help a lot in the matches, as much as Li Hong, and he did a relatively great job trying to be between attack and defence.

This match just brings the unit closer than ever, even though we lost, we still had the spirit. So RIRC, work hard!

P.S. Do note that although I am giving a report of what is happening, I personally feel that I did not do too well for the competition.

TRAFFIC CAMERA

A man was driving when a traffic camera flashed. He thought his picture was taken for exceeding the speed limit, even though he knew he was not speeding. Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed. He thought this was quite funny, so he slowed down even further as he drove past the area, but the traffic camera flashed yet again. He tried a fourth time with the same result. The fifth time he was laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past at a snail's pace.
Two weeks later, he got five traffic fine letters in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

GOD IS WATCHING

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: “Take only ONE. God is watching.” Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, “Take all you want - God is watching the apples."

Hey Epsilonians,

Sorry for this post being overdue, been a while since POC. Haha, been busy with Hillary Challenge.

Anyway, believe me when I say Clive and I had a great time being your platoon mentors. Even though I am only an attached mentor, I hope I have been a good enough one for you all, hopefully I have been there for you all.

My congratulations for the platoon becoming the champion platoon for Term 3, this feat all the more amazing considering that you all started the first few weeks with negative points. I knew you all could do it. GREAT JOB!

Shall not provide personal feedback (Clive has done that already), I guess my last message will be this: hope the greatest take-away from Epsilon for all of you is not the awards you all won, but the friendships forged in this platoon.

Finally, thanks for providing me with many happy memories.

The mantis has ruled, and will continue to rule forever.

try hopping more, grow tall and strong so can evac ppl well. later u all hav casualties like jee kinn and u are only till his shoulders, or worst ,waist. erm u all hav the energy but u all need to channel it properly. learn from one another and be strong!

Darryl u look like a block of wood! hav more emotions on ur face! then u will be cool! ^^ jiayo! make urself known to all for u are BIG! ahahahz. the other 2 old ppl, dun lose faith, dun lose hope, dun lose to others in terms of height in the future. Get a breather if u find it sian, then hop back in and chiong forward. coz all MRTs hav MRTs stations to rest in, u dun see them forever moving and missing out on all the passengers^^

On behalf of all the Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 Epsilon platoon members, I wish the Sec. 4s good luck in their future endeavours, and also congratulate the Sec. 3 cadets in taking over their new positions.

It is always important to note that Red Cross Youth, as a core UG CCA, never can be complete with all its cadets being "Sirs". Never think that Epsilon will survive with just Saravanan Sir and Deepanraj Sir. It needs its members, its blood that encompasses the spirit of sportmanship and teamwork unique to Epsilon (suddenly I realise that I have said this once). It needs collaboration, cooperation, and hard work, something that we can easily acheive.

Yet in the same way Epsilon can't survive with no Sirs. They form the basic skeleton in which blood can flow; they form the links between each and every Red Cross member, they create discipline, somewhat if you can consider like a greenhouse, encouraging the growth of plants in it. This is what makes Epsilon unique.

We need them. They need us as well.

Then we come back to the topic of evolution. I bet not only Jee Kinn has noticed Epsilon degrading. Thats why we need a revolution. We have to make Epsilon come back to life. How? It's all explained in common sense. We don't care if you are intelligent. We don't care whether you have a 4.5 GPA score. We never did. But we care about collaboration, sportsmanship and hard work. We never wanted for RC to be labelled as "slack" as in teenage "terms". Do we?

Think about it.

Dunno why but now, for me, trainings are damn boring... I cant take it....... Every training need to sleep de.. or rather feel like sleeping..
I see hui jun and all the others going into room also wad sense of urgency.. Jogging on the spot u noe... even when u cant get in.... Hw abt walking normally? It saves energy.

And yea. when moving from raja block to seminar room.. i dun normally run. Cos like the sec3s also take a long time to come into the rooms and if we were to fall out, there normally would be some lag time due to awesome coordination and communication. So normally i just walk if i see none of them ;D saves energy also.

Platoon Matters

Let Epsilonians past and present unite! Who was in Epsilon in batch 55 anyway?
Yeah, we have to grab points at training too (cos I found out Epsilon isn't exactly good at gaining points in training). If you think carefully, Epsilon will have the toughest job of gathering everyone for the photo. Epsilon was once ENORMOUS.
And who says health laws posters have to be printed? Hahaha.
Continue gaining points for Epsilon, Epsilonians (there's a reason why you are called that). Sec 2s, we are almost reaching our final stretch, so let's start doing our best for the platoon (if you haven't started, that is). Let's contribute to the platoon in whichever way we can. Zhi Jie, I suggest you come back. Which disciple of the Mantis doesn't desire to see his platoon become known as the greatest platoon of all time? Fight on people. I know the CCTs and EOYs are near, but we're just asking from a little effort from every one of you. Number is power.
On a side note, those going for the half-marathon, tell me. The current people are Jee Kinn and Gabriel (as I heard). I think I'm going too.

Yes, its part 1 of the finale, part 2 bring OA IPC, so add them up and you can get the same point as camp.
This Challenge is dedicated to the Sec 4s who will be passing out next week, so hope you guys really think twice and go all out for this final challenge.

Batch 57, the first batch who joined the platoon system since sec 1.
Platoon memories can never be as nostalgic as theirs, what more the platoon spirit and bonding that each of them had experienced for the past 4 years.
From singing epsi epsi songs, to creating the ugly ultraman cobra totem, and the struggle against other large platoons as Iota remains small in strength (in the past), these memories have definitely made an impact in the sec 4's lives.
Soon, it will happen to you too, in just a blink of an eye.
Final Challenge: Get EVERYONE from your platoon, batch 60,59,58,57,56 & 55 (yes..the JC people!) and have a great photo taken of you guys, united as one platoon.
Capture that moment for eternity, and send to editorial.rirc@gmail.com by 2 September 2009, 2359hrs.
The closer you are in getting the full strength of the platoon, the higher the chance of you getting the top score: 150 ++ (wonder why there is a ++).
This will be a great leaving gift for the sec 4s, so start uniting your people with the sec 4s and byond for the last time!

We understand some of you have temporary problem. Don't worry, it is only short term. We must look long term. We must invest long term. Now lose a bit don't cow beh cow boo, long term! Yes, remember. 30 or 50 years later we will own Swiss banks, US banks, UK properties, maybe even South Pole condominiums. We must tighten our seat belt and bite our false teeth. The future very bright. Aslong as you continue to support the gahmen 30 to 50 years you will see bright future. So Chiang See Tong a bit lah. Also, investing is very complicated business, not easy. We must pay school fee to learn from advanced countries.

Also now we merge the prisons and detention centre, more space will be available now.. We will build it like another IR, Integrated Retention - so those don't want our service and thinking of doing illegal service will go there. We will pass a new law too, the expenses for stay in that IR will be deducted from your CPF money.

If you have not checked your email, you ought to!

If you have not seen Hui Jun's email, you ought to!

If you have not listened to his instructions and posted on the platoon blog, YOU OUGHT TO!

Guys, please do not kill our blog. We can get points subtracted for doing that. We only need to post once a week, on average. How difficult is that?

Please, do adhere to the "post once a week" Golden Rule!!!

P.S. Exceptions include the case in which you have no Internet access at home. But I think everyone should be able to post.
